If he had to choose a different career: He'd be a lawyer

Best advice: "You can do anything with WD-40, a pair of pliers, and a roll of duct tape."

Passionate about: Physical fitness; he's run six marathons

One of his goals: To shake hands with every student in the College of Engineering, which has record enrollment of more than 6,000 students
